Purpose

to play an international role for victimology research and teaching as well as an information synthesizer and provider; contribute to the global development of victimology and the realization of greater justice for victims; conduct research and teaching victimology; maintain active liaison with other similar institutes and organizations to exchange information and to cooperate in any way possible; to operate as a victimological resource library; to publish an international journal of victimology, monographs etc.; to promote and create activities that encourage the support and professionalization in victimology and victim services; to host educational and professional activities as conferences, symposia, courses etc.; to perform contract research and surveys
